About the role
As a Senior Sales Assistant within Qatar Duty Free (QDF), you have responsibility for driving the sales of specialized high end categories, by ensuring stock availability and merchandising to the required standards, that will maximise sales at every available opportunity whilst ensuring that customers receive the highest level of service. The role is a specialist sales position that requires advanced skills and knowledge to build relationships with customers in order to sell these categories.
Key Accountabilities include:
- Deliver a personalised experience with commercial success whilst representing the area in a professional and hospitable way.
- Go above and beyond to create a lasting impression of QDF as a 5 star shopping destination.
- Build long term relationships with the customers to maximise return customers through consistent service excellence and provide exceptional after sales service as required.
- Acknowledge, approach and establish customers’ needs by asking open ended questions.
- Present, demonstrate and sell the products through features, advantages and benefits.
- Be aware of sales targets and make a continuous effort to achieve those results through driving KPIs.
- Introduce customers to other brands or departments after serving their needs, ensuring they leave QDF feeling they have been treated in a friendly and courteous manner.
- Ensure that any customer complaints or problems are dealt with properly and professionally, as they arise.
- Maximise sales at every available opportunity to generate revenue including add on sales, upselling or substitute selling.
- Protect inventory and follow strict protocols to prevent any loss of stock.
- Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department.
- Be aware of daily sales versus targets and how to drive sales to reach the targets.
- Ensure merchandised according to the brand layouts and visual merchandising standards as the Area of Responsibility (AOR) in order to maximise selling opportunities
- Ensure the full range of stock is on display at all times as per the guidelines.
- Maintain standards by keeping the merchandise and surrounding areas clean and tidy.
- Store the merchandise in a proper manner so as to avoid breakage or damage.
- Ensure the merchandise is displayed to the highest Visual Merchandising (VM) standards that are attractive and pleasing to customers which aids the selling process.
- Cleaning of stock and shelves/display points so the location is presented to the customer in the best possible light.

Qualifications
About you
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and skills:
- High School Qualification with minimum 2 years of relevant job experience
- Demonstrate a proactive approach to selling
- Demonstrate creativity in generating new business in the store
- Effective English communication – both written and oral
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
- Brand specific sales training, merchandising and product knowledge training on an ongoing and continuous basis
- High level of integrity
- Follow personal hygiene and grooming standards as set out by QDF
- Behave in a polite and professional manner while on duty and show the highest regard for each customer at all times.
- Be confident, pleasant and approachable.
